DAW Exhibition

These drawings were exhibited as part of Desperate Artwives Exhibition, 5th Edition, curated by Amy Dignam (January 2017) at Granby Space, Lower Marsh, Waterloo

These drawings Touch on mythological themes and carry symbolic or archetypical imagery. By adopting the figure of the deer and the antlers of the stag they symbolise the human psyche, beauty and psychological turmoil. Touching on the concept of universal balance they explore the relationship between the paradigms of male and female.

DAW is a collective of accomplished female artists whose creative practice interrogates their experience of being wives and mothers and questions social expectations and values which frame this role. The collective provides the encouragement, the opportunities, the validation and the contextual political framework and lightens the load saving time and providing the resources needed to exhibit and promote their work.
